USC outgoing Chancellor, John Dobson OAM farewelled

John Dobson OAM (pictured) was recently farewelled from his position as Chancellor and Council Member at the University of Sunshine Coast after some 21 years of service.  Our very own John Gallagher was among the attendees at the farewell dinner, with John having served 9 years on the University’s Planning and Resources Committee, which was chaired by John Dobson for lot of that time.  We wish John Dobson all the very best going forward.  John Gallagher is pictured (below) at the dinner with past USC Chancellor, Ian Kennedy.

Buderim’s Blake Crook takes home USC's inaugural commercial law prize sponsored by Argon Law

John Gallagher of Argon Law was delighted to join other regional and national industry sponsors in recognising the best law, business and arts students at the University of the Sunshine Coast’s annual awards ceremony last month.

John said the Faculty of Arts, Business and Law Awards and Prizes ceremony saw the presentation of more than 40 awards, totalling almost $50,000, including a new Commercial Law prize supported by Argon Law.

The sky’s the limit for Buderim 9’s highest fundraiser

Buderim 9 Challenge 2016 highest fundraiser cashed in his winning prize today and took to the skies in a Becker Helicopter.

Buderim 9 Challenge multi-award recipient, Josh Paix of Nambour, who lives with cerebral palsy, is passionate about making a positive difference to people and families of the Sunshine Coast living with cerebral palsy.

Buderim 9 Challenge 2016 – thanks for making it the best yet!

A record 250 riders registered for the personal challenge to get over the Buderim 9 yesterday - cycling up (and down) nine of Buderim’s toughest hills to raise awareness and funds for Sunshine Coast disability service, the Cerebral Palsy League (CPL).  

Approximately 55% of participants completed the 9-hill course, with the event on track to reach its $20,000 target raising funds in support of local children and their families living with cerebral palsy.

Held at the Buderim Tavern, more than 60 guests enjoyed celebrating the end of 2016, getting into the spirit of the upcoming Buderim 9 Challenge charity ride and heralding in the new year with festive fare.
